What a magical milestone—renewing your
Magic Key pass! I’m so glad you stopped by with this question, because it’s one I’ve personally navigated myself. A couple of years ago, I upgraded a Believe Key on my account to an Inspire Key, so I can share exactly how it works.
The good news is, yes—you can absolutely upgrade your Magic Key from the Believe level to the Inspire level. The important detail is that the Inspire Key must currently be available for purchase in order to upgrade. At the time I’m writing this, the Inspire Key is not available, but don’t lose hope! Availability for Magic Keys can change—sometimes as quickly as seasonal
churro flavors appear and disappear around the Resort!—so it’s worth keeping an eye out for updates.
When the Inspire Key becomes available again, you’ll simply need to stop by a ticket booth near the Main Entrance Esplanade at the Disneyland Resort. A friendly Cast Member there will assist with your upgrade. Just keep in mind that the full price difference between your Believe Key and the Inspire Key will be due at the time of the upgrade.
Here’s another tip: During a renewal window, upgrades can sometimes be done online if the desired pass is available. But even outside of that window, you’re welcome to upgrade to any pass type that’s currently available by visiting a ticket booth in person.
While you’re here, Jodie, it’s also a great time to celebrate some of the perks that come with your Magic Key pass. You can enjoy
dining and merchandise discounts at select locations, occasional
hotel offers, and access to exclusive photo opportunities, downloads, or limited-time collectibles. Magic Key holders are also treated to surprise extras and special experiences (called
“Extras Unlocked”) from time to time, with even more details available through the Magic Key Portal in the
Disneyland mobile app. Since benefits can vary by pass type—and are always subject to change—I recommend keeping an eye on the
official Magic Key page for the most up-to-date information.
