Greetings, Tina. From one
Magic Key Holder to another, welcome to planDisney! It's almost time to unlock another year of magic and memories at the Happiest Place on Earth.
I just renewed my pass last week, so you've got a friend in me to help with this. Currently, the window to renew a Magic Key pass begins 30 days before the expiration date. It's a good idea to renew it a little on the earlier side to make sure everything is set, because you won't be able to renew if the expiration date passes. The
Magic Key Terms and Conditions state that a renewed Magic Key pass will be automatically activated the day after the original pass expires. That means the expiration date would essentially stay the same, but one year later. This differs from new pass purchases, where you can choose a later activation date.
Here's a magical tip: A benefit of renewing near the start of your renewal window is that you should be able to
make reservations with both your current pass (up to the expiration date) and your new pass (starting with the renewal date). Make sure you select the right pass when making a reservation to see the correct availability.
This is a great year to be a Magic Key Holder, since there are many exciting events on the horizon at the Disneyland Resort. I'm most looking forward to the
70th Anniversary Celebration that begins in May. There will be special entertainment, colorful decorations, food and drinks, collectible merchandise, and more, all centered around the theme of "Celebrate Happy!"
If you have any other questions, please let us know. We're always happy to help! I'm sprinkling some pixie dust and wishing you another magical year at the Disneyland Resort!
