Hiya, Dan, and thanks for bringing your question to
planDisney!
This is a great question, and one that I was also wondering about before I renewed my
Magic Key last week. I’m happy to report that you won’t have to make another down payment when it’s your time to renew, Dan! Since it looks like you’re a California resident, you’ll most likely have the option to continue making Monthly Payments, or to pay in full instead. Just like in the past, monthly payments will be broken down into 12 payments with 0% APR as part of your Magic Key contract. This information is subject to change without notice, so it’s always a good idea to check the fine print when it’s your turn to renew! Also, keep in mind that your first monthly payment will take place on your renewal day. So, your monthly payments could overlap slightly if you’re still making your last payment for your previous Key.
When you’re within your 30-day renewal window, you can navigate to
Disneyland.com/renew to begin the renewal process. You’ll be prompted to sign into your Disney account, and then you’ll be directed to the renewal page, which will say, “Renew Your Magic Key Pass” at the top of the page. There, you’ll see your Magic Key, along with any other Keys you’re linked to, that are within their renewal windows. You'll have the chance to upgrade or downgrade to a different pass type, subject to pass availability, which may change from time to time. You’ll also be able to see the Monthly Payment cost for each available pass on this page. Simply complete your transaction, and you’re all set.
I have more good news to share, Dan! All Magic Key holders can now receive 20% off the purchase of
Disney Genie+ service (subject to limited availability) on days when you use your Key for park admission. I’m so excited to purchase Genie+ on my next park visit!
Wishing you magic,
Kristin
