Hiya, Michael, and thanks for bringing your question to
planDisney!
I’m also a
Magic Key holder, and like you, I also didn’t receive an email about renewals, so I can understand your confusion about the renewal process. Not to worry though, I’m happy to walk you through it!
Currently, Magic Key passes are eligible for renewal up to 30 days before their expiration date. If you need to double check your expiration date, you can do so by pulling up your
Disneyland app and checking in the “Tickets and Passes” section. Underneath the bar code of your Magic Key, you’ll find your expiration date. Now, if you’re within your renewal window, you can navigate to
Disneyland.com/renew to begin the renewal process. You’ll be prompted to sign into your Disney account, and then you’ll be directed to the renewal page, which will say, “Renew Your Magic Key Pass” at the top of the page. There, you’ll see your Magic Key, along with any other Keys you’re linked to, that are within their renewal windows. You'll have the chance to upgrade or downgrade to a different pass type, subject to pass availability, which may change from time to time. From there, you’ll complete your transaction, and be on your way to another magic-filled year!
Michael, have you heard the great news? All Magic Key holders can now receive 20% off the purchase of
Disney Genie+ service (subject to limited availability) on days when you use your pass for park admission. This is a great perk that I’m excited to use on my next visit to the parks!
See ya' real soon,
Kristin
