Hi Mary Ellen,
Thank you so much for stopping by planDisney with your Florida Resident Annual Passholder question! As a fellow Florida resident and proud Annual Passholder, I completely understand how lucky we are to have The Most Magical Place on Earth just a hop and a skip away. Whether my family and I are popping in for an afternoon of snacks and fireworks or planning a full weekend getaway, it never stops being magical.
Now let’s jump right into your question. When it comes to
renewing an Annual Pass, unfortunately, you won’t be able to renew one that expired five years ago. Renewals can only occur within a 60-day window before and 30 days after your pass's expiration date. Since it's been a bit longer than that, you would need to purchase a brand-new Annual Pass.
Please note that, whether you're renewing or purchasing a new Florida Resident pass, all adult Passholders (18 years and older) must provide
proof of Florida residency. The easiest ways to do this include a valid Florida driver’s license, a Florida state-issued ID with a Florida address, or a Florida-based military ID. Don’t worry if you don’t have one of those handy—there’s an alternate list of acceptable documents available on the
Disney World website.
Now for the fun part—
Passholder perks! Being part of the Passholder family comes with lots of magical extras like complimentary standard parking at the theme parks (though this is subject to blockout dates depending on your pass type). You’ll also enjoy discounts on select dining, merchandise, and even special Passholder-exclusive events and items. I just snagged the coolest Maleficent Passholder magnet at EPCOT—one of my favorite souvenirs!
Mary Ellen, I hope this helped clear things up as you get ready to return to the magic! If you have any more questions, come visit us again.
See ya real soon!
