Greetings, Shelley!
From one
Walt Disney World Annual Passholder to another welcome to planDisney!
My wife and I have been annual passholders since we became
Disney Vacation Club owners, and we love the flexibility and all the benefits that come with the Annual Pass.
When it comes to renewing your
current Annual Pass, you have up to 60 days before and 30 days after the pass expiration date to renew. Your renewed Annual Pass will then be valid for one year. The expiration month and day will remain the same each year regardless of when you renew your pass. So, if you are within the 30-day window of your expiration date, you can still renew your pass at the renewal rate.
If you are not in that time frame, your pass has fully expired, and you would need to purchase a brand-new Annual Pass at the standard rate. This does allow you to change the start date of your pass and resets the expiration cycle to match your new purchase and use date. My wife and I just did this with our Annual Passes. We let our renewal date pass and eventually purchased new passes at the standard price. We did this because we didn’t have any trips planned in a six-month period so when we utilize our new passes it will re-start the clock and give us a full year of use from the first time we use the new passes. This lines up perfectly with the trips we have planned in the next year!
Thanks to my Annual Pass, I’ve been known to sneak away and catch a boat from one of our DVC homes at
Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows to catch a late-night ride on Space Mountain and to enjoy one last Mickey Bar! We always check to see if Annual Passholder
discounts are honored at our favorite shops and restaurants!
Shelley I hope all your days are magical ones!
Thanks for spending some time with planDisney!
