Hi, Barbara!
While Annual Passholders don't get additional months added to their APs when they renew, there is always a savings when choosing to renew rather than waiting until well after the original expiration date and purchasing a new AP.
For example, at the time of this writing, a Walt Disney World Annual Pass costs $648.59 per adult; however, if you were to renew that pass within 30 days of its expiration, the renewal will cost $552.74. If you know you'll be headed back to Walt Disney World within that time frame, it's definitely worth renewing that fantastic Annual Pass.

Walt Disney World Annual Pass Renewal Program, check out the provided link. Don't forget, getting those Passholder perks are always a bonus, so even if you plan on shopping or dining throughout the year, your Passholder status can save you lots of cash...or give you reason to
spend what you saved on one more souvenir or tasty Mickey treat. (Sounds like a perfectly rational plan to me. :-) )
