Welcome back to
planDisney, Anthony!
I'm excited about your upcoming trip this summer! You'll be visiting right in the middle of the
Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary Celebration - get ready for exciting new attractions, experiences, treats, and so much more!
My plans are always changing as a vacation approaches, so the ability to modify our vacation packages has always been super helpful. It sounds like your crew has decided that you do not want to visit
Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park, is that right? Currently, Blizzard Beach is temporarily unavailable for refurbishment and a reopening date has not been announced, but it is certainly possible it will reopen before your visit in July. In the meantime,
Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park, complete with North America's largest wave pool, is ready to help Guests cool off!
Admission to either water park can be obtained through a separate admission ticket purchased specifically for the water park, or as part of the Park Hopper Plus or Water Park and Sports add-on options to standard
theme park tickets. While the four theme parks do currently require
Park Pass Reservations, the water parks do not, so you should not currently have any reservations for Blizzard Beach. Since I'm not sure how Blizzard Beach is included in your particular vacation package, I suggest
speaking to a Cast Member for assistance in assuring your plans meet your needs.
Before I go, let me just say that my crew spent an entire day at Blizzard Beach during our last vacation, and it was my first time experiencing a water park as part of a Walt Disney World vacation. I didn't think I was a "water park person" but oh boy was I wrong - it was fantastic and a great way to change things up in the middle of our trip!
I hope this information is helpful -
please let me know if there are other questions that pop up as you continue planning!
