I remember seeing a calendar which showed the days and times that each park was crowded. I can't find it now.

Hi David!  Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

One of the most frequent questions we receive here at the Moms Panel is "When is the best time of year to visit Walt Disney World Resort?"  Some Guests would like to know when they can expect the best weather in Central Florida, others would like to plan their trip around special events, and still others are curious as to when the theme parks might be less busy.

Because Walt Disney World Resort does not release attendance figures, a calendar showing days and times that each park is crowded would not be something you would have seen here on the Walt Disney World website.  There are some independent websites that develop their own crowd calendars; a quick internet search should turn up several.  Although these websites have used their own experience, research, and algorithms instead of actual numbers from Disney, they are a good place to get an idea of general attendance trends.

In my experience, I have found times of the year when most schools are in session to be less busy at Walt Disney World Resort than during school breaks.  Dates near major holidays like Independence Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Eve tend to be busier.  Less busy times are early September and mid-January, except for holiday and marathon weekends.  Keep in mind that even during historically less busy times of year, special events and new attractions can impact attendance.

No matter what time of year you decide to plan your visit, a good plan will help you get the most from your day.  Attractions tend to have shorter waits first thing in the morning or just prior to park close.  FastPass+ can also help you experience popular attractions with less waiting.  Guests who are staying at a Disney Resort Hotel or other participating hotel can also take advantage of exclusive Extra Magic Hours

Please stop by the Moms Panel again with any additional questions you may have as you plan your Walt Disney World Resort vacation.  We are always happy to help.
