I remember reading somewhere that there are "loft" type rooms at the Grand Floridian. Is that true and how do you find them on WDW website to try to book one?

Hi there, Perry, and welcome to planDisney!

Ahhh… the Grand Floridian! Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is truly one of my favorite places in the whole world! Nothing says “Disney grandeur” to me like that incredible, vast lobby and the beautiful paved walkways between the room buildings. You are in for a real treat!

The entire hotel is dreamy, but the outer buildings at the Grand Floridian have incredible charm and amazing views! Each outer building has rooms on the upper floor that have dormered ceilings. I've stayed in them several times, and I love the “lofty” feel they give to the rooms! It certainly adds to the ambiance and spacious feel. You can certainly request to stay in one of these wonderful rooms and there are several ways to do this. There is a place to indicate room preferences during the checkout process. If you have already made a reservation, you can also call Disney Reservations and have your preferences noted on your reservation. In my experience, it is also nice to make your room preference known during the Online Check-In process. Of course, preferences are subject to availability. Lastly, check out Touring Plans to see descriptions of every room type on the property.

Perry, I hope that this information helps you plan your next Disney getaway! Make sure that you visit the Gasparilla Island Grill for the best in takeaway delights and easy refills of your Resort refillable mug! And do not forget to browse the Experience Updates Pages to see the latest guidelines on the safe operations of the Disney Parks! Please know that we would love to see you back here again anytime you’d like to check in with us!

    Wishing you many magical memories,
    Clara
