I remember my first time to WDW bake in the 80's my family and I took a canoe trip in Fort Wilderness at night to a secret place on the Lagoon where we had a singalong, campfire, then had front row seats to the Water Light Parade. Does this still happen?

Hi Tony! Fort Wilderness is one of my families favorite places to stay and spend time there. It is the ultimate camping experience whether you are in a motor coach or a tent.

The experience you had was the ultimate. They no longer offer this as you remember but they do offer all the pieces in a different way.  There is the very popular Chip and Dale's Campfire Singalong located near the mid trading post and pool area. This is a nightly occurrence and the time depends on the time of year. They light two campfires where the guests can toast marshmallows or hotdogs and you can purchase the supplies right there at the campfire store.

You can rent canoes at the bike barn.  I have enjoyed this activity in the past and find that a leisure paddle through the canals will take you about an hour. Keep your eyes open for the native wildlife....when you get in the back area you won't even remember you are at Disney since it is so quiet and deserted unlike the parks!

Last but not least you can always enjoy the nightly Electric Water parade down at the beach next to the marina. There are many chairs to sit in or you can head to the right of the marina building and find a more quiet and secluded spot.

So all the elements are still offered but not as you remember. Fort Wilderness is a great place to visit and enjoy all of this and more!
