When most people think of Walt Disney World Resort, the four incredible theme parks are what instantly come to mind. For many Guests, the incredible theming and amenities of
Disney Resorts Collection hotels are a surprise upon arrival, so they haven't planned to spend time enjoying their magical home away from home. While I do love a day spent from open to close in the magic of a Walt Disney World theme park, there's nothing quite like quality time by the swimming pool of a Deluxe Disney Resort hotel especially during the warm summer months, so let's
dive in to your question.
In an effort to keep Guests informed as they plan, the Walt Disney World Resort website shares pertinent refurbishment information on each hotel's specific webpage. You'll conveniently find these announcements in red text underneath the heading and image on the main page.
- At Disney's Yacht Club Resort, Stormalong Bay and Shipwreck Pool are expected to be closed for routine maintenance from January to June 2025. Since you'll be traveling in June, I'm sure you'd love to know the specific date that the pools will once again be open to Guests, but unfortunately, that information has not yet been shared.
- While Disney's Polynesian Village Resort will be undergoing general construction and refurbishment until 2026, no swimming pool closures are expected at this time. It's important to keep in mind that refurbishment information and timelines are always subject to change, so I suggest periodically checking back as your vacation approaches. I would hate for you to be caught by surprise if a new refurbishment were to be announced between now and your arrival.
While midday pool breaks are undeniably delightful, Nancy, I also encourage you to enjoy a nighttime swim during your stay. After a full day in the theme parks, it's so fun to unwind (and cool down) with a dip in the pool. Of course, no matter the time of day, I hope you'll follow Dory's advice and
just keep swimming.
