Is there a release date yet for the Genie+ and Lightning Lane? Any update on the Meal Plans and when they might be back?

Hello and welcome to planDisney, Stephen. I always enjoy chatting with a fellow North Carolinian here. I see you have a trip planned to the Most Magical Place on Earth in just a few short months. December is one of my favorite times of the year to visit. Everything is dressed up in its holiday best and it is just so festive and fun. You are going to love it.

The all-new Disney Genie, Disney Genie+ and the Individual Lightning Lanes are all set to premiere on October 19th, 2021, so in just a few short days. I am really excited to see how this launch goes and to use the program myself. Just to give you a little recap, Disney Genie is an all-new complementary feature on the MyDisneyExperience app that helps you get the most out of your Disney day. You'll be able to tell the Disney Genie your interests and it will generate a unique-to-you itinerary that will help you navigate the day seamlessly. Disney Genie+ is an upgraded service that allows you quick access to most of the attractions at Walt Disney World. Disney Genie+ is $15 per day per person and you can pick and choose any or all days to use it. The individual Lightning Lane purchase is for the top two attractions at each theme park. You'll have little to no wait times for these attractions by purchasing the additional Lightning Lane options for those.

As for the Disney Dining Plan, Stephen, we still don't know when it will make its comeback. I am patiently waiting for some type of announcement to come out over on the Disney Parks Blog. I think it won't be too much longer of a wait. We are returning to a world of magic more and more each day. So many restaurants at Walt Disney World have opened back up as of late and I really do feel like that is a step in the right direction. If it does come back before your vacation, however, I am certain you'll be able to add it on. If it looks anything like it did before, Guests had up to 48 hours prior to their check-in date to add it to their vacation package.

I hope this helps! If you have any other questions before your vacation, please feel free to stop back by and ask me. I'm happy to help. Have a great day!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
