I have a regular ticket to the Magic Kingdom and didn't know about Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party is on the day we planned on going until just recently. Do we have to buy a whole extra ticket to attend the party? or can we just stay in the park?

    Hi Lisbeth!

Thank you for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

I'm sorry that the party has thrown a loop in your plans!  Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party begins at 7:00 p.m. on party nights.  Any guest that does not have the separate party ticket will have to exit the park at that time.  Cast Members are stationed throughout Magic Kingdom checking guests for party wristbands and/or tickets.

The party is a lot of fun!  There are special parades and shows, as well as a special holiday-themed Wishes Nighttime Spectacular.  I highly recommend it if you can swing it.

Though the party starts at 7 p.m., your party ticket will actually get you into the park at 4 p.m.  So, generally, we will use a party day as a day to visit Disney Springs (which does not require a ticket) and then go to the park at 4:00.  The party usually lasts until midnight, so that gives us a full eight hours to play at the Magic Kingdom.

I hope this helps!  Please let me know if you have any other questions.
