Congratulations, Kara!
I know the excitement you'll experience as you plan and prepare for an enchanting weekend of running and celebrating your princess's birthday.
Here are some tips:
Travel Plans- Visit the
Travel Tab on the runDisney website or call directly at 407-939-irun for quotes on Resort Hotel accommodations. Also check into any
Special Offers available through Walt Disney World® Resort - look for this information to become available in October. Once on property, I advise scheduling most of your theme park days for after the race. You won't want to wear yourself out before you get to the starting line. Also consider Advanced Dining Reservations at locations that offer foods similar to what you've been eating through your training. Try new dining experiences after the race.
Tickets- Specially priced theme park tickets are not available for this race event, but try checking into a second party service like Undercover Tourist.
Experiences- I think your daughter would love the
My Disney Girl's Perfectly Princess Tea Party at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa as a unique way to commemorate both her birthday and your race accomplishment. I also suggest letting your daughter participate in the runDisney Kids' Races. Let her dress as a princess and earn a Finisher's Medallion in the 200 meter dash. You can even run along with her. She'll be so proud having a medal to wear around the parks like mommy.
I hope this is helpful in giving you a starting point, Kara! If I can help you with any other questions please do not hesitate ask.
Happy Planning!
