When registering for DAS on the video chat feature, if we have to log off and attempt another time does it let you? Or do you have to remain on?

Hi there, Erich!  Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney!

One of my favorite things about Walt Disney World Resort is that they truly go above and beyond to make the magic accessible to everyone.  My son is on the autism spectrum, and when I visit the Walt Disney World theme parks with him, we use Disability Access Service (DAS).  DAS is an accommodation intended for Guests who, due to a disability, cannot wait in a typical queue environment.

Guests who qualify for DAS have the option to pre-register for this service via a live video chat with a Cast Member.  The video chat can take place 2-30 days prior to your theme park visit.  While the actual pre-registration video chat doesn't take long at all, wait times before being connected to a Cast Member can be lengthy.

When I need to complete the DAS pre-registration video chat with my son, I try to plan this for a day when we will be at home for an extended period of time to allow for the possibility of a long wait.  Basically, waiting to be connected to the pre-registration video chat works in the same manner as being on hold for a telephone call.  If you run out of time and need to disconnect, you'll lose your place in line, but it's no problem to try again at a more convenient time.

It is also worth mentioning that in-person DAS registration is still available at Guest Relations when you arrive at one of the theme parks.  Registering for DAS at Guest Relations is a quick and easy process.  While you won't have the option to make DAS Advance selections like you do with the pre-registration video chat, registering at the theme parks is an option if your schedule doesn't allow for the video chat wait times.

Erich, if you have any other questions as you get ready for your Walt Disney World Resort visit, please don't hesitate to ask.  See ya real soon!
