Hi Katie!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I am delighted to hear that you are planning to participate in a runDisney event!
If I understand your question correctly, you are asking about Proof of Time cut-off information for
runDisney Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend. Once you click on the Events tab for that weekend, be sure to
click on the tab related to the race(s) you plan to run and then expand the section that says "Proof of Time Guidelines." There are two important items that you should check.
First, be sure to note the information related to the actual proof of time that you need to submit. If, for example, you click on the marathon tab and expand the Proof of Time Guidelines, you will see the proof of time requirements for the half marathon and marathon. Proof of time is not required for 5K and 10K races. For the
full marathon proof of time, you can submit official race results from a 10 Mile, Half Marathon, or Marathon. There is a note that says they cannot accept "relays, trail runs, self-timed, training, or virtual runs as proof of time."
Second, mark your calendar for the deadline to submit your proof of time. For the runDisney Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend 2021, the official proof of time policy guidance reads:
Proof of time must be provided from an officially timed race on a USATF certified course reflecting results between July 1, 2018 and October 20, 2020...Runners will be placed in the last corral if the appropriate race distance is not submitted for Proof of Time or if the data provided is incomplete or cannot be verified.I do hope that you follow the
runDisney Blog for the latest race news. And, be sure to check for any runDisney
operational updates as events, policies, and procedures could change. If I misunderstood your question, my apologies! For additional clarification, feel free to contact us again or
contact runDisney directly.
Katie, I admire your courage - so far, I have only stepped my running shoes into
runDisney Virtual Events. I trust that you have considered a
training program and, most important, have considered your costume! Check out this
great suggestion about giving your costume a practice run from former Disney Parks Moms Panelist Faith!
Sending you pixie dust trusting that you can
go the distance!
Magic and memories,
Donyell
