I am registered for the Dopey Challenge. At other marathons I have participated in, there are apps to track your progress and receive your unofficial finish time as soon as you cross the finish line. Will I be able to see my unofficial time immediately?

    Hi Liane!

Welcome to planDisney!  I love every magical mile of a runDisney race!  Between the characters and the entertainment, there is nothing quite like the experience.  Plus, you can't beat racing through the Disney Parks.  I still remember my first time running through Cinderella Castle during the 2017 Princess Half Marathon Weekend - it was quite a memorable moment!

I haven't yet tackled the Dopey Challenge, but I've had several friends take it on and they've all had a blast!  48.6 miles over four days is certainly a lot of running and I'm sure you'll want to carefully monitor your pacing and finish times that weekend. Liane, I'm happy to share that typically runner tracking has been available during runDisney races.  This information is usually posted in the race weekend section under the "Spectator Info" tab.  You can also check your Digital Expo and Event Guide which will be posted closer to your event for more details.  I like to share the runner tracking info with my friends and family so they can cheer me on, but like you, I also sign myself up for my own runner tracking so I get all the messages as well!

After all of those miles, you may be interested in a few ideas to relax and unwind around Walt Disney World Resort.  Did you know you don't have to be a guest at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa to make a reservation at their full-service spa?  I don't know about you, but a massage after 48.6 miles sounds like the perfect way to both celebrate your accomplishment and pamper yourself!  I'd also encourage you to check out the Digital Expo and Event Guide for discounts that may be available to runners at restaurants and retail locations around Disney Springs!  I had a great post-race meal at Chef Art Smith's Homecomin' and would highly recommend checking it out.  If you go, make sure to order the Thigh High Chicken Biscuits.  You won't be disappointed!

Liane, I'm sending lots of pixie dust your way as you lace up your running shoes and train for the Dopey Challenge this January!  If you have any other questions, please stop by to see me or any of my panelist pals here at planDisney again - we're all ears!

    Cheers,
    Kristi
