Do you have to register for Scuttle Cove on castaway cove? And if so how do you do that?

    Ahoy Amanda!

We are so happy you stopped by to talk about my favorite topic: Disney cruises! Between the fabulous food, stellar service, and exceptional entertainment, Disney Cruise Line wows Guests and keeps them coming back for more. Especially with Castaway Cay, an unforgettable destination with its crystal-clear waters, beautiful beaches, and ample activities. At the end of your stay, I hope you will be saying, “Best Day Ever!”

The Experience Update page for Disney Cruise Line has a specific section devoted entirely to its private island, Castaway Cay. If you scroll down the Ports of Call: Know Before You Go tab, it says that Scuttle’s Cove is available on a first-come, first-served basis, so no advance reservations are required. Naturally, kids ages 3-12 will already have to be registered to do the Youth Clubs onboard to participate, but I’m guessing that you already knew that part.

As my kids have gotten older, I've found that they want less planned so that they have the flexibility of also hanging out with friends at the Youth Clubs like Scuttle's Cove and Teen Hideout, or in the game pavilion called In Da Shade. While your kid(s) are hanging out in Scuttle’s Cove, perhaps the grown-ups can make a trek over to Serenity Bay, the adult-exclusive beach on the island. Highly recommended!

Of course, you can also pre-plan your Port Adventures ashore, run the Castaway Cay 5K course (currently not an organized event but you can still get the medal at the end), or simply choose to lounge in a beach chair. My other suggestions are to slip and slide down the Pelican Plunge waterslides; try snorkeling on Castaway Family Beach; and take a spin around the island on bikes. Whatever your plans are, check out the Castaway Cay map to get a lay of the land in advance.

Amanda, if you have any other questions while you plan your voyage to paradise, please come back and visit us again. We're here to help make your planning a smooth-sailing experience. Hope you have a DREAMy cruise!

    SEA ya real soon!
