Hello there Sylvia, and welcome to planDisney!
One of the greatest things about staying at a
Disney Resort Hotel is the ability to take advantage of some of the most unique activities on Walt Disney World Resort property - from art to archery, there are so many ways to spend your days outside of the theme parks!
You'll be happy to hear that I confirmed with a
Recreation Cast Member who said that the offerings found at the Disney Resort Hotels are often open to guests who don't necessarily need to be staying at that particular resort to enjoy; policies are however subject to change without prior notice and may vary depending on each activity and its availability so the best rule of thumb is to ask the Cast Members directly running the activity or offering your heart is set on. If you'd like to specify for us which activity you're looking at, feel free to come back again to planDisney and let us know so we can look into it further! (Bear in mind that that are select offerings like swimming pools that are officially restricted to Resort Guests only.)
Some of the most
diverse recreational activities out there can be found at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort and these can sometimes really make you forget that you're still right here at Walt Disney World Resort. I recently visited
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge to research more about the current offerings and the Cast Members helpfully informed me that anyone is welcome to
register and take part in their arts and crafts such as Wild About Painting - even Floridian locals have been known to drop by to make some creations of their own!
Personally, I recommend taking some time to explore and venture out on some recreational
rentals like a breezy bike ride or even
a paddle along the waterways; it's a great way to get to know more about each Disney Resort Hotel location and possibly uncover little details or even wildlife that most guests don't get a chance to spot!
Here's to some Resort fun on your next Disney adventures!
