Hiya Jose Gabriel,
Thank you so much for stopping by planDisney with your
runDisney questions. I absolutely love that you are already looking ahead to Marathon Weekend 2027 and thinking about lacing up for the Dopey Challenge. That is no small feat, and it is an incredible goal. One of my favorite things about runDisney is the community. From the moment you walk into the Runner’s Expo at
ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex to every mile marker on race morning, to the chants of encouragement, the high fives along the course, the runDisney community is just remarkable.
So, Jose Gabriel, let’s run right into your question. The
Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend 2027 is scheduled to take place January 6 through January 10, 2027. Registration for the general public is expected to open on March 17, 2026. If you are part of gold or platinum
Club runDisney, you can look forward to early registration opening on March 10, 2026. In my experience, registration typically opens around 10:00 AM Eastern Time, but I always recommend keeping a close eye on the runDisney website and signing up for
email alerts ahead of time, since times can change.
If you are planning to go for Dopey, I highly recommend logging in a little early on registration day and having everything ready to go. That includes your address, shirt size, and payment information. Marathon Weekend is one of the most popular runDisney weekends since it is the only one that includes the full marathon. I once learned this lesson the hard way when I did not have my card info ready, and the race sold out while I was checking out. Definitely not the photo finish I was hoping for.
Speaking of photo finishes, do not forget to show off those race costumes and consider purchasing
Memory Maker before race weekend. It is such a fun way to relive every mile, smile, and medal moment, and celebrate all the hard work you put into training for those magical miles.
Jose Gabriel, I hope this helps answer your question and gets you even more excited for the road to Dopey. If anything else comes up as you plan, please feel free to visit us again at planDisney.
See you on the starting line,
Christina
