Hi there, Pat! Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney!
One of the things that I love most about
Disneyland Resort is the way that they go above and beyond to make the magic accessible to everyone. My son has autism, and when we visit the Disneyland theme parks, we register him for
Disability Access Service (DAS).
DAS is an accommodation meant for Guests who, due to a disability, cannot wait in a typical queue environment. Guests who are registered for DAS may use their
Disneyland mobile app to request a return time for an
attraction they wish to experience. This return time will be based on the attraction's current standby wait. Any time after that given return time, the Guest and their travel party may return and access that attraction without waiting in the standby queue.
There are a couple of ways that Guests can register for DAS. When you arrive at Disneyland Resort, you can go to City Hall, the Chamber of Commerce, or a Guest Information location. At one of these locations, you can speak with a Cast Member to determine if DAS is an appropriate accommodation for your particular needs. If DAS is a good fit for your specific situation, the Cast Members can get you registered on-site. However, if you would prefer to get right to the fun when you arrive at the theme parks, there is also an option to pre-register for DAS prior to your visit.
Guests can now request a live video chat with a Cast Member 2-30 days in advance of their Disneyland Resort visit. During this video chat, if the Cast Member determines that you are eligible for DAS, they can set up your registration right then and there. Pre-registering for DAS also gives you the option to plan up to two
DAS Advance experiences per day of your visit (based on availability). These experiences are in addition to the attraction return times that you can book while using DAS in the theme parks. If you would like to request a video chat, go to the
Registering for Disability Access Service (DAS) page, where you can read more about the process. Once you have read over the information and accepted the Terms & Conditions, you can then scroll down the page and click on the "Request Live Chat" button.
Pat, if you would like to discuss any questions or concerns you might have with a Disability Services Cast Member, please feel free to reach out to them. You can find their contact information on the
Services for Guests with Disabilities page.
Wishing you a magical Disneyland Resort visit!
Samantha
