With regards to the new 2016 Dining plan...Can I opt out of a drink and dessert for a Quick Service and earn 2 snack credits or just one per meal? And just so I'm clear, 3 snack credits can now be traded for a quick service meal?

    Hi, Emily!

The Disney Dining Plan can get a bit confusing!  Basically Mickey Mouse wants to make sure you get the most value as possible, so YES, you can exchange a Quick Service Credit for 3 snack items.

As far as exchanging items within a meal, you can make some exchanges such as no dessert in lieu of an additional beverage, or a soup instead of a dessert (exchanges based on menu availability). If you opt out of a drink or dessert, you cannot "earn" Snack Credits onto your account. The exchange needs to be made at the time of purchase. If find this "exchange" option particularly beneficial if dining at your resort. Since you will have a refillable mug for a beverage, getting to choose an extra side or snack is a real bonus.

If you ever have any questions, simply ask the friendly Cast Member when ordering your meal or purchasing snacks. The Cast Members know the plan inside and out and will explain the limitations of exchanges at that particular location.

I hope you have some great meals on the Disney Dining Plan!

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is sailing with Disney Cruise Line, running (or cheering!) at runDisney events, taking hula lessons at Aulani, or vacationing at the Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. I am proud to be a part of the planDisney team and cannot wait to share my tips and advice for a magical vacation
