Regarding the Port Orleans Riverside and Port Orleans French Quarter. Can you use the amenities of both resorts, like the restaurants, pool, and boat ride to Downtown Disney? Are they located close together? Thank you!!!

    Hi Suzanne!

If you stay at either Port Orleans French Quarter or Port Orleans Riverside then you can use all of the services and amenities of both resorts.  It's actually encouraged and is clearly stated on the activities sheet you are generally given at check-in.  This is true for the pools as well; generally pool hopping is not allowed at Walt Disney World, but in this case it is since both resorts consider themselves to be part of the overall Port Orleans resort.

You can walk between the two resorts, but it is a long walk.  I did it myself (with no children) last summer and it was a long 15 minutes; with young children I would imagine it would be much longer.  In the heat and humidity of July, it felt longer than 15 minutes but during the right time of year, I'm sure I would have found it very enjoyable.  It's a very nice path along the river with nice landscaping.

However, there is a boat that runs from Riverside to French Quarter and then down to Downtown Disney.  Likewise the boat coming from Downtown Disney stops at French Quarter and then proceeds to Riverside.  You can use the boats to hop between the two resorts.  My son and I did that when we went to swim in the French Quarter pool.
