Regarding the new Magic Key program, if I have a wholey unused Disneyland ticket, will I be able to put the value of the ticket purchased towards the purchase of a Magic Key pass on August 25th?

Welcome to planDisney, Ryan! Thanks for stopping by with your question for us.

I’m delighted that Disney finally announced information regarding the new Magic Key pass program! I’m looking forward to being able to visit the Happiest Place on Earth more often with the help of a Magic Key.

Ryan, depending on the type of ticket you have, you may be able to apply its value towards the purchase of a Magic Key pass. The current promotional California Resident tickets cannot be used to upgrade to a Magic Key pass; however, a regular, non-promotional theme park ticket can be upgraded! Starting August 25th, you’ll be able to purchase/upgrade to a Magic Key pass on Disneyland.com or Disneyland mobile app.

Did you know? In celebration of the 66th anniversary of Disneyland Resort, if you upgrade to or purchase a Magic Key pass during the first 66 days this program debuts, you’ll receive an exclusive welcome package mailed to the home address on file. It includes a limited-edition pin, magnet, a unique Disneyland, and much more!

I hope this information is helpful for you. Please don’t hesitate to visit us on planDisney again if you have additional questions.

    See ya real soon,

Meet the Panelist: Kiki, California

Greetings from Northern California! I have been fascinated by the magic of Disney since I was a little girl; now that I am a mother of two, I love watching my children experience Disney Parks through their own eyes. I am also surrounded by fellow Disney-loving nurse friends whom I enjoy quick adults-only Disneyland Resort escapes with. Whether you are planning your once-in-a-lifetime family trip or a short adults-only getaway to the Happiest Place on Earth, I am here to help!
