Hi Amy,
Welcome back to planDisney! It’s awesome to hear that you’ll be using the different types of technology to go throughout the Theme Parks. My husband and I love using
Disney MagicMobile and our Apple watches to enter the Theme Parks because it’s super simple!
When it comes to purchasing MagicBands at that pre-arrival rate through the
My Disney Experience mobile app, you must purchase all the
Magicbands at one time. From my experience, if you aren’t getting a guest a Magicband at the time you’re selecting someone else’s, you’re going to need to decline MagicBands so that order will go though for that individual. Once you decline, you can’t go back to add more MagicBands.
Since your family will be using MagicBands and the new
MagicBand+ (once released), I suggest potentially waiting until later this summer to make your purchases just to see what happens with the MagicBand+ release. Keep in mind that currently you’ll want to place your order
at least 11 days before your arrival if you'd like the original MagicBands shipped to your home. If you’d like to pick them up at your
Disney Resorts Collection hotel, you’ll want to order them at least six days before arrival. You definitely have some time to decide!
You can always wait until you arrive at the Walt Disney World Resort as well. Whether purchasing at the Theme Parks as or at
World of Disney, there’s always a great selection. You’ll just want to build some time for browsing into the first part of your vacation. If you decide to go this route, once you purchase, you’ll want to link the MagicBands to your My Disney Experience mobile app so you can start using them immediately!
I hope this “Bit By Bryanna” is helpful as you prepare for the
World’s Most Magical Celebration. If you have any other planning or vacation questions,
please feel free to reach out, I’m always happy to help!
The Magic Is Calling,
Bryanna
