Regarding Genie+ and Lightning Lanes - if I book a LL at 7AM for an 8AM reservation can I book my next reservation at 8AM after I check into my ride since I met the minimum of 2 hours after last reservation OR redemption of LL reservation?

    Hiya, Melissa!

Welcome to planDisney! I'm so glad you asked this question before your visit tomorrow because the answer can make a huge difference in the number of attractions that you're able to enjoy in one day. Time to get ready to "rope drop" the park!

Starting the day bright and early with Disney Genie+ Service is one of my favorite things! You will be able to select your first Lightning Lane as soon as you have entered the parks. So the earlier you arrive, the sooner you can start using our pal the Genie! After you choose a Lightning Lane you'll wait two hours to choose your next one (I like to set an alarm on my phone so I don't forget) unless you use that Lightning Lane sooner. Once you have scanned your Lighting Lane and joined the queue for the first attraction you chose you can get a new Lightning Lane, even if it hasn't been two hours since you picked the last one!

For example, let's say that I enter the park right at 8:00 AM and I choose a Lightning Lane for Space Mountain which has a return time of 8:40 AM. I might head for another attraction to enjoy (Star Tours: The Adventures Continue is conveniently on the way!) until it's time to go to Space Mountain. If I scan my Lightning Lane to join the queue at Space Mountain at 8:45 AM then I can choose another Lightning Lane right away!

Alternatively, I could choose that same Lightning Lane for 8:40 AM at Space Mountain but head to Adventureland to start my morning. I'd probably start with Indiana Jones Adventure (my personal favorite) and then maybe enjoy the Jungle Cruise next door. Next, I could head to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, as long as I remember to arrive at Space Mountain before my Lightning Lane expires (that would be one hour after my return time, so 9:40 AM in this example). As soon as I scan to join the Lightning Lane queue I'll be able to select a new Lightning Lane, even though it still hasn't quite been two hours since I picked the first one.

As the day goes on, Lightning Lane return times will be farther in the future (especially for the most popular attractions) so eventually you'll probably have that two-hour wait before you can choose your next Lightning Lane. I used Space Mountain in my example because it's one we like to do early in the day. If you have a favorite ride that offers Lightning Lane (looking at you, Dr. Jones) then I would suggest getting to the parks early to do that ride first in the standby queue, then using Lightning Lane to enjoy it again later. Remember, you can only use a Lightning Lane once at each participating attraction in a day. So choose wisely!

If you aren't sure what time you can choose a new Lightning Lane take a look at the Disneyland Mobile App. There should be a small banner that tells you when you can pick your next one, but if you don't see it you can always just try to choose a Lightning Lane and the app will tell you when you're eligible for your next one. Don't forget to bring a charger for your phone so you don't run out of battery on your excursion!

I hope this example helps you cruise through your park adventures with confidence, Melissa!

    Keep moving forward!
