Hi! Regarding the chili boats at Castaway Cay. Do we board them from a dock or on the beach. The step over and step across looks tall and wide. One of us has short legs! Also, does the seat adjust forward and back for easy pedal reach?

Ahoy, Patricia J! It's always peachy keen to meet a fellow Georgian with a Disney Cruise Line vacation on their mind.

I applaud your bravery with the Chiliboats Waterbikes. I absolutely love paddleboarding and look forward to spending time floating out in Castaway Cay's waters. They are gorgeous! Once, my son talked me into renting a paddle boat. Biking on the crystal clear water and time with my son sounded like the best vacation combination. It was work! Now, some of that was my competitive spirit and wanting to see how fast we could go. Whew! I was ready to find a hammock and rest. I haven't tried the waterbikes yet, but they look like fun! I may not have learned my lesson...

The waterbikes, aqua trikes, paddle boats, paddle boards and kayaks are typically on the shore near Marge's Barges. You board them at the shoreline and make your way into the water. There are Cast Members available to help get you situated.

I can't find any specific information on whether these waterbike seats are adjustable, but looking at the specs for the bikes on the manufacturer's site, it appears they are.

You can reserve these through Port Adventures before your cruise. If you are unsure, you can also wait and check them out in person. In my experience, rentals of all these recreational sports crafts are available on the day of your visit. Even when determined to paddleboard, I wait to get a sense of the weather. The wind has so much impact on how smooth or challenging your pedaling will be. I prefer not to commit until I know what I am getting into (paddle boat experience aside). I risk they may all be rented that day, but there is so much to do at Castaway Cay; it's a risk I'm comfortable taking.

It looks like your cruise is a Very Merrytime itinerary. Talk about a Christmas Wish coming true! I have been on two of these cruises and loved them both! The smell of gingerbread in the grand lobby, characters dressed for the season, Santa Claus, the halls decked out... There is so much extra magic on board! You'll find it at Castaway Cay, too. Holiday decorations and music, island style! It's the most wonderful time of the year to be on the most magical ship at sea!

It won't be long before you set sail on your adventure! If you have any other questions, like how to get and use the Placeholder Offer best, you've got a friend in planDisney!
