Has the refurbishment list for Disney World been confirmed, or does it have the potential to be updated or changed? Our trip is in September 2024, and I am worried Dinosaur, Test Track, and a few other rides will be closed while we go.

Hey there Conlan and welcome back to planDisney!

Can you believe that it's coming up on six years since you came to us while planning a surprise engagement, and it's great to see that you're coming back once again in September during a busy year with new things on the horizon. While there are a lot of developments and behind the scenes work that we can't currently confirm dates for at the moment here, I'm happy to help you look ahead to what you might expect for your upcoming trip:

    • The Walt Disney World Resort Hours & Events Calendar currently updates about two months ahead, so for your next stay your best bet is to check again in July to see whether anything else has been added under attractions or offerings that are Closed for Refurbishment. That said, we've sometimes observed that this can be subject to change without prior notice so I recommend keeping an eye out for official releases on the Disney Parks Blog for announcements about changes or updates that you can anticipate.
    • There currently is no official word as to when It's Tough to be a Bug! will be closing to make way for the citizens of Zootopia, if work will commence at reimagining Test Track or when DINOSAUR will finally be going extinct but we'll be keeping a close eye on the announcements at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event taking place in August to see whether any of these attractions will see a sudden closure.
If there's anything that we've learned in recent years, closing a chapter on an attraction or offering at Walt Disney World Resort can sometimes be sudden or unexpected as well as shrouded in mysteries such as the future fate of Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith and whether you'll be hearing any different music when it reopens. (These decisions can always be subject to change without prior notice, but at the current time there's just no telling what will definitely be closed in September this year.)

Cross your fingers that you'll be able to experience some of these attractions one final time on your upcoming trip!
