Hey there, Jessica!
Welcome to planDisney and thanks for stopping by with your
Walt Disney World Resort vacation planning question. I'm excited to hear your trip to The Most Magical Place on Earth is finally here! If your travel party is anything like mine, then you've been counting down the days ever since booking your trip. Although severe weather may be threatening to rain on your parade, I'm here to help you understand your options.
Jessica, anytime hurricane activity is projected to impact the Walt Disney World Resort area, it's important to keep an eye on the
Weather Updates & Information page. You'll also likely see notifications in the My Disney Experience mobile app providing up-to-date information about potential closures or operational changes resulting from severe weather in the area. Rest assured that, if a hurricane warning is issued within seven days of a Guest's scheduled arrival date, that Guest may usually
cancel or reschedule their vacation package or room-only reservation without incurring any change or cancellation fees, for trips booked directly with the Walt Disney Travel Company.
It sounds as though you'll be arriving at the Walt Disney World Resort today, however,
before a hurricane warning has been officially issued in this case. If you haven't begun traveling yet and have specific concerns about your trip, then I recommend reaching out to the friendly Cast Members at the
Disney Resort Hotel Reservations line for additional information. Rest assured that, if you've already arrived on-site at The Most Magical Place on Earth, the Cast Members on property will do their very best to ensure your experience is safe and enjoyable. In the event that the theme parks close or other operational changes occur during your stay, I recommend visiting the Front Desk at your Disney Resort hotel to discuss any options in terms of your theme park admission.
Jessica, I hope you've found this information helpful and I wish you a safe and sunshine-y trip to The Most Magical Place on Earth. If you have any additional questions throughout your vacation, you're always welcome to revisit us here at
planDisney. I encourage you to work directly with Cast Members on-site, as well, as they'll likely be able to provide you with the most up-to-date information. See ya real soon!
Wishing you blue skies and sunshine,
Lauren
