Hi, Veronica! Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question! I'm so sorry you won't be able to take your child to the Walt Disney World Resort this weekend. I know it must be terribly disappointing. Let's walk through some options for your unused ticket.
Disney's official policy is that tickets are non-refundable, but the good news is that even if you can't make it this weekend, you can still use it for another magical vacation in the future! As long as the ticket has not been used yet, you should be able to change the start date on the ticket in your
My Disney Experience account and save it for another time. Do note that Disney uses date-based pricing, so there may be a difference in cost when you change your dates, but it's at least one possibility that may work for you.
Alternatively, if the ticket has been used to enter a theme park but still has days left on it, you can apply the remaining value to a new ticket in the future. That's something you'd need to speak to a Cast Member about, but hopefully it helps to know you have some options.
Another thing you might consider if your ticket is unused is to
reassign it to another Guest. You can also do that in your My Disney Experience account. Just go to "My Plans" in the My Disney Experience menu on the Walt Disney World website, then click on the "Tickets & Memory Maker" tab about halfway down the page. You'll see an option to "Reassign Ticket" if it's available for your ticket. You can then choose another Guest from your
Family & Friends list, or add a name yourself. This might be a good choice if you know you won't be able to reschedule your trip for another time.
If you need help modifying the ticket or have other questions, your best bet really is to speak to a Cast Member. If you'd prefer not to hold on the phone, you might be able to ask for a call back, or you can try the online chat feature you'll find on the
Walt Disney World Contact Us page. Just look for the "Chat" icon right next to the email and telephone images in the upper right corner of the page.
I hope you're able to plan a future visit the Most Magical Place on Earth, Veronica. Wishing you faith, trust, and pixie dust!
Keep Disney Dreaming,
Kathy K.
