Is the refillable cup worth it? How can I find out what it includes. We’re not big side drinkers. Thanks

    Welcome to planDisney, Stephanie!

I love the Resort Refillable Mugs at the Walt Disney World Resort. They’re convenient for beverage refills throughout your stay and make for fantastic souvenirs once home. We take ours camping, keep them on hand for when smaller children visit, and use them all the time to feel the Disney magic. They even make fun bath and sand toys!

Currently, the plastic Resort Refillable Mugs are sold for $19.99 each; there is also a stainless steel version available at select resort hotels, and these are currently priced at $29.99 (prices subject to change). These mugs are good all-you-care-to enjoy refills for the length of your stay at the Walt Disney World Resort. They can only be refilled at Walt Disney World Resort hotels in Quick-Service dining locations; there is no refillable mug available in the theme parks at this time. Included beverages are soft drinks from the beverage islands and coffee, hot and iced tea, and hot chocolate. For health and safety reasons, the refill stations are currently staffed by Cast Members who hand you a disposable cup with your drink of choice, which you can pour into your mug or drink as-is.

As for whether it’s worth it, that depends on how much soda, coffee, and tea you’ll drink on your vacation, and how much time you’ll spend at your resort hotel. I almost always purchase one because I enjoy taking a quiet walk in the morning to get a cup of tea, and I’ll refill with a frosty Coke before hitting the pool mid-day. I usually refill when we return from the theme parks, too. However, my husband rarely purchases one for himself because he drinks mostly water and black coffee, which he can make in our hotel room’s coffee machine.

I usually pack a small container of dish soap so I can wash our mugs in our resort hotel room. While you’ll find a sink and hot water in the Quick-Service restaurants near the beverage island, I like to give a good wash back in the room. I also pack a resealable bag with reusable straws and a straw brush. For conservation reasons, you’ll find paper straws throughout the Walt Disney World Resort, so if you like a straw, I recommend packing your own. We always bring our own water bottles too.

I’m raising my Resort Refillable Mug and saying “chEARs” to your Disney vacation, Stephanie! As you continue to plan and dream, please come back and see us if you think of any other questions.

    Wishing you a magical vacation,
    Robyn
