We have reeservations on Disney Dream for June 2016. Our stateroom is on deck 10 (category 4A). Will it be too loud? Should I request a different deck?

    Ahoy, Rosa!

Thanks for stopping by the Moms Panel with your question.

First, congratulations on your upcoming cruise on the beautiful Disney Dream! As far as stateroom location goes, my motto is "as long as we're on a Disney ship, we're good"! Deck 10 gets mixed reviews from cruisers, as some have found their location to be a bit noisy at times. That being said, it really depends on where your stateroom is located on the ship.

If you're Midship, near the elevators, that's a great place to be, with easy access to the heart of the ship. (And close proximity to the all-you-care-to-enjoy soft-serve ice cream station!) Located beneath the pool deck, these staterooms might be noisy when the pool is busy. When the pool is busy, we're usually AT the pool, so that wouldn't be a problem for my crew! The pool deck is quiet at night, and quite peaceful.

If your stateroom is located in the Aft portion of the ship, you'll be located under the casual dining area of Cabanas restaurant, so it's possible you would hear noise from this area. Dinner service is usually over by 8:30, and wouldn't be an issue when you're sleeping at night.

No matter where I'm located on the ship, I always drown out external noise with a white noise app on my phone. It doesn't use any data, and I can sleep peacefully to the sounds of crashing waves or light rain! If you're a really light sleeper and concerned about the noise, you may want to consider a change to Deck 9 to ease your mind.

Hope this helps! - Diane W.
