Hey there, hi there, Karen!
Thanks for stopping by planDisney where you're always as welcome as can be. I'm happy to assist a fellow Mouseketeer today. Let's get going!
Disney Gift Cards are my favorite way to prepay for Walt Disney World vacation expenses. Whether you purchase them online or at a store like Target or Costco, they function similarly. I will share three different ways to use them during your stay.
First, you can swipe your Disney Gift Cards just like a credit card at any restaurant or retail location in Walt Disney World. When it's time to pay for a snack, meal, or souvenir, present a Disney Gift Card, and you'll be prompted to tap it, swipe it, or hand it to the Cast Member. Look for your remaining gift card balance at the bottom of the printed receipt.
If you prefer to keep your valuable gift cards in your safe during your trip to avoid losing them, another option is available. If you are a Guest of a hotel in the
Disney Resorts Collection, you can use your MagicBand,
My MagicMobile, or Key to the World Card to charge purchases to your resort. On the evening before check-out, visit the front desk and pay down your room charges with Disney Gift Cards. This is my preferred method as it allows me to carry less to the theme parks and not worry about misplacing a gift card.
Finally, if you plan to utilize
Mobile Food & Beverage Ordering or
Merchandise Mobile Checkout, type the gift card numbers into the Notes app on your mobile device. Then, before finalizing a food, beverage, or merchandise purchase,
copy and paste the gift card numbers into the payment screen.
I hope this has been helpful, Karen. One final tip before I go! If you have multiple gift cards, you can combine them onto the card of your choice on the
Disney Gift Card website, so long as the total amount does not exceed $1000. If you purchased several gift cards from Target, this is a convenient way to consolidate them. Best wishes for a magical vacation, and if there's anything else we at planDisney can do to make it even more special, come back and visit us again. We're all ears!
See ya real soon,
Betsy
