The Red and Green Flag Water taxi, what make of boat and who made them?

    Hey Bruce, welcome to planDisney!

Bruce, the Cast Members I spoke to were unable to share the details about the Water Taxis you asked for. I even scoured past photos I’ve taken of the Disney Water Taxis and could not find any identifying details of the boats. I think the best way for you to learn about the boat transportation is by asking the Cast Members who are operating the boats. Did you know that some transportation Cast Members carry small “trading cards” about the different types of Disney Transportation? So far, I’ve collected cards from the Disney Skyliner, FriendShip Boats, and Bus Service. Not all Transportation Cast Members carry the cards, so I recommend asking every time you use Disney Transportation!

I did find this interesting article from Disney Experiences that shares facts about the Transportation operations in Disney World. I knew Walt Disney World Resort was a large property, but it is amazing to read about the fleet of vehicles that have been moving Guests around since 1971. I think the Monorail may be my favorite option, but the boat transportation is a great choice if you’re looking for a scenic and relaxing ride.

Sorry this wasn’t the information you hoped for, Bruce. Strike up a conversation with the Cast Members next time you use the boats at Walt Disney World and maybe they’ll share all the details! We’ll be here at planDisney if you have any more questions!
