I am recovering from shoulder surgery and am wondering what rides i will be restricted from. I will be in disney 2 weeks into physical therapy so technically after my complete resting period but wearing brace to painful from painful movements

Welcome to planDisney, Kennady! I'm so glad to be able to answer your question today.

The good news for you is that, technically, there aren't any attractions at Walt Disney World that you'll be restricted from riding due to your shoulder brace or recovery status. Disney won't stop you from boarding any rides, so it really comes down to your own comfort level and, of course, any guidance from your physical therapist or doctor.

Since you'll be just a couple of weeks into physical therapy and still wearing a brace, it's smart to think ahead about what might feel okay and what might be too much. If I were in your situation, I'd probably steer clear of attractions that involve quick or jerky movements, intense launches, or anything that could put your arm or shoulder in an awkward position. For example, Tron Lightcycle / Run and Avatar Flight of Passage could be uncomfortable because of the riding position, which leans you forward with handlebars, which might not feel great in a brace. Same goes for Space Mountain, which can be bumpy and dark, and Rock 'n' Roller Coaster, which has rapid loops and a powerful launch.

On the other hand, there are tons of rides that are super smooth and unlikely to cause any issues. Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Frozen Ever After are just a few examples of attractions with gentler motion where you can relax and enjoy the magic without worrying about shoulder strain.

The bottom line is: you probably won't be stopped from riding anything, but you know your body best, and your physical therapist is your best resource for ride-specific recommendations based on your healing timeline. When in doubt, it's totally okay to take it easy, skip the thrill rides, and soak in all the magic of the gentler attractions.

    Have a magical day, Kennady!
