Hi there, Gemma!
Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question!
I'm so sorry to hear about your broken foot, but it's wonderful that you're planning to enjoy
Typhoon Lagoon! Here’s some essential information to help you have a magical time at the water park while recovering from your injury:
The good news is that you can wear water shoes both in the park and in the water at Typhoon Lagoon - it's a very wise idea! The pavement can get very hot on sunny days. If you forget your water shoes, you can find a few styles for sale in the gift shop. You'll want to make sure your water shoes (and swimsuit) don't have any exposed metal parts, such as protruding zippers or rivets, as metal is not allowed on the slides to protect their surfaces.
For some of the larger water slides, you may need to remove your water shoes. You can either leave them at the bottom of the slide or hold onto them as you go down. Cast Members will inform you if water shoes need to be removed for a particular attraction.
I hope this helps with your planning and packing for your upcoming visit to Typhoon Lagoon! My "must-do" attraction is
Miss Adventure Falls - it's so much fun!
Have a splashtacular time!
