Hi, Kyle!
Some families choose to send boxes ahead of time for their vacation stays at Walt Disney World to avoid paying airline baggage fees. This is up to you, but let me give you a few things to think about....
-Allow plenty of time for delivery. You do not want to arrive at your resort to find your package is still in transit. When sending, add "tracking" to your package so you know where it is.
-When shipping your box, include
"DISNEY'S PORT ORLEANS - RIVERSIDE" along with the mailing address. Also include GUEST NAME with arrival date.
-
Per the website, note that you will get charged a $5 per package fee for each box delivered to you.
-Have a plan on how to have your box of goodies mailed back home!
Now back to your question, what to ship? Well I guess anything you do not want to pack: sunscreen, extra shoes, jackets, maybe some snacks. Do not worry about packing towels, as these are supplied in your room and at the pool areas. (Towels not provided at water parks, but can be rented.) Soap and shampoo is provided in your room, but you might want to bring your own if you prefer a specific brand.
If you can get away packing light and sticking with suitcases/backpacks for the trip, that is certainly the easiest. Do not over pack! Keep it simple with shorts/Tshirts and a hoodie for the cooler evenings. Try to get more than one wear out of pants and jackets. If need be,
laundry rooms are available if you need to toss in a quick load while resting at the pool or when convenient.
However you plan to get your stuff there, just make sure to leave some room for the return home for any souvenirs!
