What are recommended experiences for Make-A-Wish families?

Hello, Abigail, and welcome to planDisney! There’s something truly special about wishes coming true, especially at the Happiest Place on Earth. Disneyland and Make-A-Wish are both close to my heart, and I'm honored to sprinkle a little pixie dust on your plans by answering this for you.

Abigail, one of my favorite things about the Disneyland Resort is how the magic can look different for every family, depending on their interests, ages, and dreams. I’ll share a few experiences that many families, including mine, have found to be special.

    • Magical Makeover: Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is an enchanting experience for any young princess or brave knight, and there are a few packages to choose from. A Fairy Godmother's Apprentice provides a full pampering in the salon – my daughters loved getting their hair and makeup done, and picking out their very own princess gown. I recommend doing this early in the day, because then the child can enjoy a day at the park all dressed up. Children who are not the right age for this enchanting extra may still be able to get a little bit of magic – see if they can get a complimentary sprinkle of pixie dust in their hair, and do some shopping in the boutique area of the salon.
    • Fun with Characters: The Disneyland Resort offers plenty of ways to meet beloved Characters. You might encounter royal strolls through Fantasyland or spontaneous superhero sightings in Avengers Campus. The Disneyland mobile app is the best way to find where Characters are greeting Guests throughout the day. To make the most of each encounter, bring an autograph book or something little ones can ask the Characters to sign.
    • Character Dining: If you're hoping to combine a delicious meal with magical moments, I highly recommend making a reservation for Character Dining. The most unique is Disney Princess Breakfast Adventures. Picture a three-course breakfast, princess-themed activities, and visits to the table by multiple Disney Princesses. This is a dream come true for anyone who likes princesses!
    • Nighttime Spectaculars: The Disneyland Resort has a fantastic lineup of entertainment, especially now during the 70th Anniversary Celebration. The Paint the Night parade dazzles with one million LED lights, bright colors, and a high-energy soundtrack. Wondrous Journeys is my favorite, especially when there are fireworks. Dining packages are available for select shows and can be a great way to add a little extra comfort and convenience. I just did the World of Color Dessert Party with my mom and sister, and it was wonderful. We were able to sit during the show and enjoy snacks and tasty treats.
Ultimately, I think the magic in a Disneyland Resort visit rests mostly on bringing dreams to life, whether that’s twirling in a princess dress, sharing hugs with Mickey Mouse, or simply spending joyful moments together as a family. I hope your trip is everything your family dreamed of, and then some.

Abigail, please reach out if you have any other questions. We're always happy to help here at planDisney. Thank you for stopping by!

With faith, trust, and a little pixie dust,
