Hi Julie!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, fellow Texan! I am so glad you stopped by with your question about your trip to
Walt Disney World Resort! Seeing your little one’s face light up when they see their favorite characters is so memorable and makes the challenge of traveling with toddlers worth it!
I love that you are thinking ahead for your little Mouseketeer’s long days at the theme parks! From my previous travels with my own two little guys, our favorite, go-to shoe of choice is either our favorite Nikes with a Velcro strap (because laces are just way too much trouble for mom!!) or our most favorite Native slip-ons! In fact, my boys live in their Natives once the Spring hits Texas and they wear them ALL the time! We love the variety of colors and they can be dressed up or down! While they are a slip-on style shoe, as long as you have the correct size for your little one, you shouldn’t have any problem getting them to stay on their little feet! And, since they are breathable and waterproof if they get wet, they will dry quickly!
While I know your little one will be eager to walk alongside, I definitely recommend a stroller for your long days at the theme parks. In fact, we still like to rent a stroller for the day when we visit even though my boys are long past stroller age (or size). But, being able to have a resting place for them (or the many souvenirs we always find ourselves getting), is so very helpful during those long days. You can either rent one at the theme parks or bring your own but be aware that
recent stroller guidelines have been announced and will begin being enforced May 1, 2019.
Wishing you the most magical and memorable vacation,
Stephanie
