Hiya, Kristina! Welcome to planDisney!
It sounds like you’re gearing up for a magical visit to the Disneyland Resort! Get ready to step into a world where dreams come true! Disneyland has magic waiting just for you and your family. To help you navigate all the excitement, the Disney team has created a
treasure trove of resources, including a downloadable accessibility planning guide with helpful information for neurodivergent individuals, such as those on the autism spectrum. It's packed to the brim (like Mary Poppins’ bag!) with info that will help your family have a most enchanting visit!
Guests who experience sensory differences may also find the
Sensory Experience Details guide helpful. It provides information on each attraction and themed land at both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park. It includes tips on what to expect, such as flashing lights, scents, audio, and the possibility of getting wet while enjoying certain attractions.
Speaking of attractions, one of my favorite parts of visiting the parks is enjoying the immersive queue experiences. The Disney Imagineers have a knack for turning ordinary waits into extraordinary adventures. Your family will be so captivated by the sights and sounds, you'll practically forget you're in line! This is especially helpful for Guests who have difficulty waiting for longer periods of time. My favorite is the queue of
Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway. Get ready to giggle, Kristina! The visual feast of hilarious movie posters will have everyone chuckling from start to finish. And, if you love food puns, you’ll appreciate the queue’s concession-themed area.
If all of the thrills and excitement (and concession-themed areas!) have your family wishing for a quick break, there are lots of ways to do that as well. There are enchanting little hideaways throughout the parks where you can relax and recharge. You can find these
quieter break areas online or by asking a Cast Member where the nearest “Need a Break” location is when you’re in the parks.
Disneyland Resort’s
Disability Access Service (DAS) may also be helpful for Guests requiring additional assistance during their visit. Eligibility for this service can be determined after having a conversation with a Cast Member virtually up to 30 days in advance of a park visit, or by visiting the Accessibility Services window at the Disneyland Resort.
I hope you and your family have the most magical time! It looks like you’ll be visiting in March, which is just in time for the Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival! There will be lots of family-friendly food and beverage offerings to enjoy during your visit!
Don't forget to wave to Mickey Mouse for me!
