Hiya Maria,
Welcome back to planDisney! What a great question! I just returned from a visit to Walt Disney World Resort with my nearly three-year-old and five-month-old, and we challenged ourselves to find as much magic as possible outside of the theme parks. We had a lot more fun than we expected, and we look forward to adding at least one day like it to future trips.
Maria, I know you live in Florida, but my first recommendation is to take in the activities at one of Walt Disney World’s resort hotels. From making your own ears and bracelets to coloring and movies under the stars, the resort hotels have so much to offer. Our toddler loved interacting with other kids her age (and older) through the activities, and my baby could escape the heat and be entertained by the little ones while crawling around in a smaller setting. We also selected a resort that had a
playground for additional fun. Additionally, Guests of Walt Disney World Resort hotels get
entrance to one of the water parks on check-in day this year, which is another excellent activity option. Both of my littles love the water, so spending time in the water park was the perfect way to cool off when it got too hot.
Looking for something away from a resort hotel? Then head to Disney Springs! We love to go there because it has something for everyone. They have a
small carousel,
train, a
Kids Club, shopping, and yummy treats perfect for a summer day. Now, all of these plus resort pools were enough for our littles, but some other activities we considered that we would love to try next trip are:
mini golf, dancing to the live music at Disney Springs, a
pony ride for our three-year-old, and a visit to
Tri-Circle-D Ranch.
I hope this gave you some inspiration for your upcoming visit, Maria. If not, please come back and see me. I’d love to help you plan the best itinerary for you and your family.
Happy Planning,
Ashley F.
