Ahoy Jennifer!
I am so glad you stopped by planDisney all the way from Australia while resEARching your Disney Cruise Line vacation! You’ve selected a fabulous voyage in the
Panama Canal itinerary. And with
so much that’s included on a Disney cruise, it always makes me feel like royalty!
Disney Cruise Line does make suggestions on accommodations in their various port cities, including Galveston. On the Disney Cruise Line website, scroll down to the bottom of
this page to see the Galveston hotels/resorts that are recommended. Any of these would make a fine place to get your sea legs back after your cruise and before heading to Walt Disney World. That said, my fellow panelist Stephanie has had
firsthand experience staying in Galveston and recommends the San Luis Resort. It's in a prime beachfront location overlooking the ocean with a tropical pool and cabanas.
Since you will disembark from the
Disney Wonder early in the morning, this leaves you plenty of time to spend exploring Galveston before making the trek to Florida. Disney Cruise Line requests that all Guests be off the ship by 9:00 A.M. so that Cast Members onboard can get the ship turned over for those Guests embarking later that day. Then again, after a 14-day cruise, you will probably be ready to start phase two of your Disney vacation as you gear up for Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios!
One more pre-cruise tip: make sure you download the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app. It will assist you with deck plans, dinner menus, and schedules of onboard activities and entertainment. There’s even a reminder feature that will send you alerts for events you want to attend so you don’t miss out on a single minute of the fun!
As you chart a course to your sailing, feel free to stop back by planDisney with any additional questions. Wishing you the most WONDERful cruise and many fun adventures at sea with Captains Mickey and Minnie at the helm.
SEA ya real soon!
