Hi, there!
Welcome to planDisney, Monica. I'm so happy to hear you're planning a Walt Disney World Resort vacation! I'd love to help you plan a magical visit.
As a mom of three, a stroller is an absolute must-have for my family's Disney vacations. Exploring the theme parks requires a lot of walking, and little legs tire quickly! I very much recommend a stroller for your upcoming visit. Even though your boys have probably outgrown using a stroller at home, they'll be glad to have a place to rest during your adventure-filled days in the theme parks. When my sons were 4 and 6-years old, I also appreciated having a stroller on hand when the park felt a bit congested, especially at the end of the night. I knew they were safe and sound seated in the stroller!
You ask a great question about whether or not two single strollers or one double would be better. I think that's a matter of personal preference! If you think you'll be splitting up throughout the day, two single strollers would be helpful so that each boy has a stroller to sit in while they're apart. Otherwise, I prefer a double stroller because it's one less stroller to manage!
Strollers are available to rent from all four theme parks and Disney Springs. You may also want to consider renting a stroller from ScooterBug, Disney's Featured Rental Provider. This Orlando-based rental company will deliver a stroller right to your Disney Resorts Collection hotel! How convenient is that? The nice thing about this option is that you'll have the stroller with you as you travel to and from the theme parks. Strollers that you rent from the theme parks need to be returned to the rental location before exiting the park, and sometimes the walk can be a bit long from the exit to the transportation terminals.
You're also welcome to bring your own stroller from home!
Just be sure that it's no larger than 31" in width and 52" in length. No matter what stroller you choose to use for your visit, be sure to have something that will make it stand out among a sea of others in the designated stroller parking areas. I always tie a Mickey Mouse ribbon around the handlebar of our stroller, but I've seen Guests use nameplates, balloons, and even battery-operated twinkle lights!
I hope this was helpful, Monica. Please let us know if you have any other questions about
traveling to the Walt Disney World Resort with little ones in tow!
