Do you recommend shipping groceries to your resort prior to travel? Would this be cheaper than buying at the resort or having groceries delivered? Will have DDP but want to have extra snacks in room. Thanks!!!

Jennifer, many guests do ship certain items ahead since it has become more and more difficult to pack and fly.  Many airlines restrict you to one suitcase and then charge for the second and families are finding they can ship a box cheaper then paying the extra cost.

As it gets warmer and warmer in Florida you would need to take extra care with what you are shipping.  Perishable foods would not work and you would want to wrap any food items in sealed plastic since the resorts will not know there is food in them and will not take any extra care to keep boxes off the floor.  The items that work best when shipping are things for a baby such as diapers and canned formula and bottles.

When we have stayed at resorts where we know we will want food in the rooms we have used the on line grocery service, Garden Grocer.  It has been outstanding and we have always been very pleased with the choices they offer on line and the delivery service to the resorts and rooms.  There is a minimum purchase so you will need to see if you would even qualify for this but you can reach this site by going to gardengrocer.com.I

f you are looking to just buy a few snacks then it is easier for you to simply purchase those at the resort store.  Make this as easy on yourself as you can...it is vacation!
