Welcome to planDisney, Tara!
Setting up camp at
Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort is a brilliant way to spend
Christmas. What's better than being surrounded by the pine trees, twinkling lights, and that good old-fashioned campground charm? It truly will be the most wonderful time of the year!
For Christmas dinner outside the parks, I'd definitely recommend
Whispering Canyon Café at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. It’s just a quick boat ride away and serves up fun, family-style dining in a beautifully rustic setting. If you want something a bit more spectacular, you can't go wrong with
California Grill at Disney's Contemporary Resort. Some other fun options would be
Steakhouse 71 at the Contemporary,
'Ohana at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, and (if you don't mind travelling a bit further),
Topolino's Terrace - Flavors of the Riviera at Disney's Riviera Resort.
Just note that the
booking window has already opened for Disney Resorts Collection Guests. Therefore, you'll want to make your dining reservation as soon as you can. Christmas meals at Walt Disney World Resort fill up faster than Santa's sleigh on Christmas Eve!
Pro tip: Make sure you stroll through Fort Wilderness' campsites to see all the incredible Guest-decorated lights and displays. It's one of the coolest Christmas things at Walt Disney World that most people don't get to enjoy.
