Hello. Can you recommend a resort in each category (deluxe, moderate, value) for our family of 4? We have 2 energetic boys ages 2&4. Will also spend a fair amount of time @ resort relaxing each day. Planning for 2009 to celebrate 3&5 b'day in Jan/F

Value - All Star Movies or All Star Sports - My son loved the All Star Movies. We had to stay in the Love Bug section because of Herbie the Love Bug. Our son would greet Herbie each morning and say good night to the lovable car in the evenings. He found tire tracks in the nearby cement and just knew that Herbie had been driving around while he was sleeping. To see his face discovering this magic was priceless. Choose a theme that inspires your kids to dream. Sports fans would have fun at the All Star Sports.

Moderate - This one is tough. I really enjoy the moderate hotels. I think they offer a lot of amenities and great theming. Keeping in mind your energetic boys, I’m going to recommend the Caribbean Beach. I’m leaning towards Caribbean Beach Resort due to the pool and beach amenities. There are nice playground areas on the sand. The pool is currently being renovated and will re-open later this year. The slide is going to take on a pirate theme. I think it’ll be a huge hit with kids. At the food court, the kid meals are served in sand buckets so they can eat and then head to the sand to play.

Deluxe - The lodges are less expensive than the other deluxe hotels. Our son has always enjoyed both the Animal Kingdom and Wilderness Lodges. I think the Wilderness Lodge was easier with a small child due to the proximity to the Magic Kingdom. The rooms are much smaller at the lodges than at the other deluxe hotels.

Next, it would be a toss up between the Polynesian and the Beach Club. With young kids, I think I’d opt for the Polynesian. The monorail transportation to the Magic Kingdom is ideal. The volcano pool and beach area is fabulous for kids of all ages. The rooms are very large and have been renovated with flat screen televisions.

First figure out your budget, then you can start eliminating some of your options. I have to do this on every trip and it’s still difficult to have to choose a resort. Sometimes I can’t decide so we resort hop and split our stay between two resorts. Enjoy!
