Ahoy Theodore –
Thanks for dropping in for a visit with us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and congratulations on your upcoming cruise on the
Disney Dream. My pirate crew loved our adventures on the beautiful Dream when we sailed in the Spring, and I know your family will delight in all of the fun onboard. The best part of our trip on the Dream was a visit to the very lovely
Castaway Cay, a paradise island with sugar sand and turquoise waters. When we went to Castaway Cay, we were unable to secure one of the very popular cabanas because there are a limited number of them (21 at Pelican Plunge, 5 at Serenity Bay and 1 Grand Cabana) and the demand is high. The guests who have the opportunity to rent them first will be the Concierge passengers and those who are in the highest tier of repeat sailors called
Castaway Club Platinum cruisers. If you are able to get a cabana, then yes, I highly recommend them for their private beach, personal outdoor showers, comfortable furnishings, refrigerated drinks, towels, included recreational rentals (snorkel, tubes, bicycles), and dedicated staff. The cost for a cabana on the family friendly beach runs $549 per day for 6 guests. Even though we were not able to get a cabana for our trip, we enjoyed plenty of shaded beach loungers and chairs, clean restrooms close by, and the cast members brought me a cool beverage on the beach. Your family will have the best beach experience no matter what you choose, Theodore, but if you need more help, you know where to find us!
