Do you recommend planning which park per day to visit based on extra magic hours, or are the parks WAY more crowded on "extra magic hour" days? aka, is the Magic Kingdom (on the dates the extra magic hours are offered) busier than usual?

    Hi Julie,

I hope you're having fun dreaming about your upcoming vacation and thinking through all the magic and fun you'll enjoy during your trip! With your visit just a few short weeks away, it won't be long until all of your Disney dreams are coming true! SO exciting!

There are definitely different viewpoints when it comes to Extra Magic Hours, but my family falls firmly in the "pro Extra Magic Hours" camp. While the crowds may be a bit heavier on the days with Extra Magic Hours, it's worth it to us to have either an hour in the morning or two hours in the evening to enjoy our favorite attractions with significantly smaller crowds. I know that crowd sizes, in general, can have an impact on the day, but in my opinion, even more important than finding the days with the smallest crowds is having a good plan in place. I'd suggest arriving at least 30 - 45 minutes before the theme park opens for the day so that you have plenty of time to go through security and ticketing before kicking off the magic and fun. You'll also want to make sure that you take full advantage of the FastPass+ service by making your three selections per day 30 - 60 days ahead of time, then using the My Disney Experience mobile app or an in-park kiosk to make additional selections once you've enjoyed those initial three, one at a time, throughout the entire day. Also, when your tumbly starts getting rumbly like Winnie the Pooh's, mobile ordering will save you lots of time and make your dining process easy peasy!

Thanks so much for visiting us at the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Julie, and please come see us again if we can help with anything else as you're thinking through the details of your trip. However you decide to plan your days, I hope that you have a truly magical vacation!
