Do you recommend being at each park for their "rope drop" or is there one park where it's a bit more exciting? I'd like to see at least one rope drop while we are there in Oct, but getting everyone else up to do it might be another story! Thank

    Hi Mary,

I completely understand the position you are in.  While I'm an early riser (especially at Walt Disney World), getting my husband and son out of bed in time for rope drop is sometimes a challenge.

If there's one rope drop ceremony you simply must see, it is the one at the Magic Kingdom.  It is simply adorable.  There's nothing like seeing Mickey and friends arrive by steam train to the strains of happy music.  Plan to be at the Magic Kingdom 20-30 minutes prior to opening to catch this charming show.  Once you go through the turnstiles, position yourself in the center of the plaza right in front of the train station.  Even if your family members aren't early risers, I think they'll thank you for convincing them to get up early to see the show.

    Have fun in October!
